Villa Garita

This stunning villa is perfectly located in the centro historico neighborhood of San Miguel de Allende.
Upon entering the property you’re greeted by a large open courtyard with multiple areas for sitting and dining, all surrounded by luscious bougainvilleas, citrus trees, and countless palms. This garden is surrounded by a formal living room, sitting salon, silver-leaf and marble handmade chef’s kitchen, a TV lounge room and a powder room. These soaring sitting rooms are all furnished with remote-controlled fireplaces, modern furniture, and local art. Walking toward the rear of the property you’ll find another large garden area with a contemporary swimming pool, chaise-lounges, wet bar, and Moroccan-inspired outdoor sala (living room).
The second floor of the property hosts six bedrooms and four full bathrooms. The south wing hosts a master suite with a king bed, a comfortable sofa, an ensuite bath, and a private terrace.  Also in this wing is a guest room with a single daybed, another guest room with a full sized bed and a full bath. The west wing includes two bedrooms with full-sized beds and twin bunks above. These two bunk rooms share a full bathroom. A 6th bedroom, the studio, is furnished with a queen-sized bed, ensuite bath, and a private patio/sitting. These bedrooms all overlook the entry garden courtyard or the pool area. Every bathroom is equipped with in-floor heating and stocked with luxurious products from local purveyor Hecho SMA.
The roof terrace has some of the best views in San Miguel de Allende, including SMA’s churches, valley and reservoir, and mountains. There is ample comfortable seating for enjoying sunrises and sunsets. The terrace is also a superb backdrop for yoga.
The entire villa was thoughtfully designed and furnished by renowned interior designer Rachel Horn. Rachel has worked on properties all over the world and has been published in numerous books and magazines.  Every room is well appointed with custom furniture, local art and stylishly eclectic finishes. Villa Garita’s 18th century walls represent the rich history of San Miguel de Allende, its deep colonial roots alongside the modern-day expectations of luxurious living.
